Best Western Premier Bridgewood Resort Hotel & Conference Center is seeking a qualified individual to fulfil the position of Convention Services Director. The Convention Services Director will oversee the day-today operations of the conference center banquet divisions. They will manage all banquet team members in the execution and service of catered events. Required to direct subordinate supervisors and cooperatively work with the Food & Beverage Director, Director of Catering, Director of Sales, Executive and Sous Chefs. Responsible for leading a diverse team of servers, set up, bartenders and supervisors in providing outstanding guest service in a first class environment.


This list of duties is not all-inclusive but rather a general guideline. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Meticulously plan events with supervisors and service staff to ensure execution is achieved at the highest level.
  • Review labor needs and create staff schedules which meet guests’ needs as well as maximizing efficiency. Made available to team members every Friday by noon.
  • Prepares and conducts performance evaluations for all team members on an annual basis.
  • Must work toward the achievement of budgeted financial goals for food sales, beverage sales and labor costs.
  • Control inventory of banquet china, glass and silverwares and all other operating equipment
  • Conduct meetings with the Food and Beverage Directors as well as the Sales and Catering Managers to continuously evaluate strategies and ideas for enhancements to benefit the guests’ experience.
  • Actively recruit candidates to keep all departments at a level which assures all guests of receiving professional service.
  • Understands it is necessary to be visible to clients and direct supervisory team members during all meal periods. Office time is not acceptable during meal periods.
  • Maintain constant communication with guests and/or on-site contacts to ensure all expectations are met or exceeded. Be sure that he personally, or one of the supervisors, personally introduces themselves to all event contacts for each shift.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and counseling with regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.
  • Schedule and direct team training meetings a minimum of once per quarter.
  • Must be professional and effective in responding appropriately to internal and external guest conflicts. Solicit feedback and build relationships with the goal of driving continuous improvement in guest and employee satisfaction.
  • Maintain constant contact with the culinary team to ensure there is complete effective communication between food production and food service.
